Enjoy a tour of Kaarakin! We are one of the Perth hills’ most unique wildlife parks, specialising in the rescue, conservation and rehabilitation of black cockatoos. As a guided walking tour, you’ll get to:

  • Learn about our black cockatoo rehabilitation program from rescue to return to the wild.
  • Meet some resident black cockatoos. These birds would have trouble surviving in the wild, so live at Kaarakin as active ambassadors for their species.
  • Visit the kangaroos. They might come for a nibble too if you’re lucky.
  • See the dingoes. Discover how they’re different from dogs.
  • Spy the emus. There’s some other free roaming birds that you might see too, including ducks and peacocks.
  • Come inside the interactive aviary to get up close to some black cockatoos*. These resident birds are curious, gentle and friendly. You can hand feed them some gumnuts. Be ready to be sat on.

The tour runs for 75 minutes as a gentle walk with several stops.

For something more, we also host Bird Bonanzas which include a guided bird-watching bushwalk, becoming a 3 hour experience all up.

Add a dingo encounter to personally meet a furry friend too if you like.

As always, bookings are required. Numbers are limited and can fill quickly, so get to it!

Tickets can be purchased under ‘events’ on the website!
