Weeding and Seeding Connections (with people and black cockatoos)

Are you passionate about conservation, birds and the great outdoors? Do you want to meet like minded people? Or do you just enjoy the theraputic activity of weeding alongside black cockatoos, kangaroos, emus and humans? Well then this is an event for you!

This event will be held at Kaarakin at 8.30am on Sunday 29 November and finish at 12.00. Tickets are $20.

The event will include a meet and greet, a weeding session (prizes for outstanding weeding), morning tea, a tour of our black cockotoos in rehab, and to top it all off, an interactive experience with some feathered friends.

Please be aware that you must wear closed in shoes, long pants and a sleeved shirt. Avoid wearing jewellery and buttons if you would like to go into the interactive friendly black cockatoo aviary.

This event will be held in the recently revegetated area of Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre. The revegetation area has several thousand native seedlings planted in the hopes that the vegetation will provide future habitat and food for our local black cockatoos and wildlife.

The seedlings need all the help they can get, and removing encroaching weeds will help these little guys along their journey.
