Fundraiser for the conservation of black cockatoos in the Margaret River Region

The three black cockatoos of the Margaret River Region: two white-tailed black cockatoos – Baudin’s Black Cockatoo and Carnaby’s Black Cockatoo, and one red-tailed black cockatoo – Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo will be the benficiaries of this fundraiser! If you have seen them, heard them, or spent any amount of time with them, you’ll know that they are utterly majestic and incredibly intelligent! Absolutely worth all of our collective effort as a community 😍

On 4 April 2020, Rankin is determined to overcome his biggest challenge to date: to run Margaret River’s iconic 124km Cape to Cape Track in under 24 hours. Starting from Cape Leeuwin at Augusta, traversing some of WA’s most spectacular coastal scenery to arrive at Cape Naturaliste near Yallingup the following day. Known for its dramatic coastline landscape, cliff-top vistas, white sand beaches, forest scenery, and an ever-changing display of vegetation and wildflowers, the Cape to Cape Track is a wild and formidable terrain.

Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre was part of the project. We shared information about the black cockatoos with Rankin and his team and invited them to visit our black cockatoo conservation centre. Thank you for sponsoring and supporting the C2CCR! 🦅🐶🦆
