Our Junior keepers program is back!
Our very hands on Junior Keepers club will take place one Saturday a month for the same group of children. The aim is to inspire the younger generation to care for our wildlife and eventually become fully-fledged Kaarakin volunteers once they turn 16. Some main tasks would include:
– Feeding, cleaning and taking care of our black cockatoos
– Helping find and distribute browse to the cockatoos
– ~20mins engaging with our interactive aviary birds per session
– Educational talks about our animals
– Making and distributing enrichment for our cockatoos
– Maintaining enclosures and assisting in weighing resident cockatoos
– Sessions lasting about 1.5hrs between 10:30-12:00.
– Parents are invited to BYO food and drinks (non alcoholic) and eat at the restaurant while their children are onsite partaking in the activities.
Children: 12-15 years old
Cost: $25 each
